Absence

Apologies for not posting in awhile. We've been quite busy as 2007 winds to its end - I honestly can't believe I just typed that! Were has the time gone? In any case, we've been very much in the spirit of the season this year, attending festive holiday get togethers, planning trips to see family, taking the boys for their first trip to see "Santa Paws" (sorry for no pix - they had a no camera rule!)and just enjoying our first holiday season as a married couple.

I'm so grateful for this fun, spirited little family of mine...for our extended network of amazing family and friends- for the gifts of hope and a future I face head on. I'm thinking tonight of family who doesn't feel that 100% of the time...I'm wishing peace for you Kevin, and that you find whatever it is you're searching so desparately for. As always, the road is a tough one, but I pray you'll stick this out and come out ready to jump into your future. It is bright and full of family and support - you just need to open your eyes and see it. We're here when you're ready...until then, godspeed on a journey that is yours alone.

I'm wishing everyone the merriest of holidays this year - my favorite time - full of family and joy and the promise of another great year. As for the Carretta's - we've got a couple more parties, a few more errands on the list, and then it is off to Morgantown for a fun week with the Brock's. I'm excited and promise photos to document the adventures. :)

Until next time...

It's Beginning to Look ALOT Like Christmas!

Ok, even though this blog post is after Thanksgiving, I must confess that I began the Christmas decorating before Turkey Day this year. I just couldn't wait! :) BJ has been very patient with my obsession for the holidays...I think he is used to it by now!

Enjoy the pix and happy holidays!!!

Happy Thanksgiving 2007!!

We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. We went to Indiana and spent the holiday with BJ's Mom. It was very relaxing and wonderful to spend some quality time at the lake.

We saw our first snow flurries of the season and are definitely feeling COLD temps here in Chicago.

Wishing everyone lots of blessings and more of whatever you're especially thankful for this year!!

Purdue vs IU - our weekend in Indy

We had a great weekend visit with Brett, Laurie, Callie, Rosie and Crystal a couple of weeks ago!

Enjoy pics from the football game - BJ wasn't very happy that the Boilers lost!!

A Day at the Spaw!!

Sorry we haven't posted in awhile; we are going to be much more consistent with our blog!!

After Cooper's surgery, he was very dirty and needed a haircut soooo badly. As you all know, getting groomed is far less than his favorite activity. :) See below for our before and after photos and our trip to Soggy Paws for grooming.

Hugs & kisses to all!

Halloween for People!

We attended a belated Halloween party last night. A great time was had by all and it was great to see good friends and hang out for an evening of silly fun. I think everyone can agree the attire was ridiculous; I mentioned more than once that I might be getting too old for this...but I'm opting to go with the "we're only as old as we feel" mantra. In that case, bring on the costumes and debauchary! :)

In case the images don't speak for themselves, I was Pebbles (and my friend Jen was Wilma) and BJ was a keg of beer...naturally.

Winter is fast arriving in Chicago...I'm sure entries laden with snow pix and tales of navigating our first full Chicago winter are straight ahead.

Happy Halloween (again) to all!

Halloween!

The boys were bees for Halloween 2007 - we did a fun walk on Southport but missed most of the doggie festivities because we were out of town for a wedding. The boys had a blast anyway. Happy Halloween to all!

Cooper Update

Cooper is doing much better; thanks to all for checking in on him!! He did well in his surgery and is recuperating nicely. We get the stitches removed next week and find out our full diagnosis and treatment plan. We are so thankful that it is NOT shunts. Whew.

Enjoy the pix of the little guy post surgery!
